Why Slap & Track?

Why should I choose Slap & Track over SkyBitz trailer-tracking terminals?

TransCore® Slap & Track™ terminals work with all types of trailers, including dry vans, reefers and other specialty trailers. We’ve been continuously improving our technologies for the last ten years, developing tracking systems that work well in a trailer environment with minimal maintenance. To date, TransCore has shipped more than 150,000 trailer tracking units to satisfied customers in the US, Canada, Europe, Mexico and the Middle East.

The Slap & Track terminal is a fully integrated, two-way communications device that takes less than 15 minutes to install. It’s easy: Just clean the trailer surface, slap it on and pull a small tab to activate the unit. Slap & Track automatically registers itself with the satellite and joins your fleet service. It’s less than 0.7 inches thick, and fully configurable from the dispatch office.

And our terminals track more than just location. Depending on customer requirements, TransCore mobile satellite trackin gterminals can be configured with a full array of other capabilities, including volume sensors to tell you when the trailer’s full or empty and provide other sensing data from thousands of miles away.

Slap & Track terminals can be quickly reconfigured to meet special needs without sending a technician into the field. If you have a special requirement to have a terminal report every hour on a specific load, the dispatcher can program that remotely, and then quickly return the unit to its standard configuration when the load is delivered.

*SkyBitz' Web site product information states that their GLS terminals can be awakened in as little as one hour. TransCore Slap & Track terminals can be awakened in 30 minutes or less, or at least twice as fast as SkyBitz. SkyBitz' Battery Life Calculator claims that its GLS 200 terminal battery will last 3.1 years with a 1-hour wake-up cycle, when delivering two reports per day. A TransCore Slap & Track terminal's batteries will last up to six years with the same reporting schedule and 30-minute wake-up cycle.
